Chana Dal In Bengali Style |
Chana dal is a traditional Bengali dish. A Bengali dinner party is incomplete without luchi (puri) and chana dal with coconut.
Ingredients:
Chana dal – 1 ½ cup
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Chopped green chilli
Chopped coconut
Turmeric powder
Bay leaf
Whole green cardamom – 2-3 pcs
Whole cloves – 2-3 pcs
Whole cinnamon – 1 inch
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Salt
Recipe:
Boil chana dal with ginger paste and keep it aside.
Now heat ghee in a pan and put the bay leaf and all
whole spices like cardamom -cinnamon – cloves.
After ½ minute, when you start getting nice aroma of the
spices, put turmeric and cumin powder and fry it.
Now add the boiled dal, salt and little bit of water.
Then add sugar, chopped coconut and green chilli and
mix it gently.
After 3-4 minutes takeout from flame and pour it into a
bowl.
Serve with luchi (puri).
